Mountain Biodiversity - Human Wellbeing Survey

Description

The survey assesses:

• The state of and trends in biodiversity and ecosystems. Mountains ecosystems are grouped into five "natural systems"

• The importance of and trends in direct drivers. Drivers consist of (1) climate change, (2) invasive alien species, (3) land use change, (4) overexploitation, and (5) pollution.
• The ecosystem services supported by each individual natural systems and their trends
• The level of and trend in human wellbeing, as well as the contribution of ecosystem services to human wellbeing. Five dimensions of human wellbeing are addressed.

• The overall relationship between biodiversity and human wellbeing, and governance measures to improve it
• The coupling between high- and lowlands
